Just gave my gals a handful of fresh cranberries and

Mine really liked the pomegranates I gave them last week. I was amazed to see the tough outer skin cleaned out in just a matter of moments. Had never thought of cranberries. I still have some left over from Thanksgiving (it's in October here in Canada) so I think I will take some out to them today and see how they react!

Mine don't like celery but like broccoli. It has to be in smaller pieces though - they left it alone when it was thrown in as a full head.

Yes, I have heard to stay away from the dried fruits as they tend to have too much sugar. I beleive I read that on here somewhere but I can't be sure.

I threw an old pomegranite out for my hens. They tore it apart. I think they eventually ate the rhind.

Ours also LOVE grapes- it's like a funny game of chicken keep away as they all scramble to get the grapes first! I haven't tried cranberries but will probably have some leftover from Thanksgiving and will give it a try! Like others, they want nothing to do with celery or broccoli BUT they love the leftover pumpkins from Halloween!

During the Summer I put Watermelon rind in for my chickens and turkeys. At first, they cautiously circled the foreign looking thing! When I went back later they had devoured all of the inside part, next day the rind was gone. After that, no circling, straight to eating. They also liked Summer Squash.

Mine got cranberries and yogurt today and went nuts for it. Even my three day old chicks got crumble and yogurt today. It was a fresh yogurt day! Our last day of sun was yesterday...today was our first rain in a while here in California.

Has anyone ever made chicken bread/muffins? Thinking of using flax seed, cracked corn, whole wheat, leftover veggies.....nothing we would eat, but kind of like we make dog treats out of various strange food stuff.
