so excited. chicken coop is coming along great. almost done. my husband has been working in some pretty nasty 90 degree temps to finish. he is as excited if not more than me to see the chicks in it. we have 6 chicks. about 7 wks. 1 ameracana,2 barred rocks, 2 speckled sussexs, and 1 buff orbington that i couldnt resist. just have to get the chicken run finished and i think they are in.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congrats on your coop being nearly finished. I'm sure your husband will be glad when it is working in those temps!! Whew, hard work I'm sure. That's a lovely mix of breeds you have there, I'm sure you will enjoy them very much. Good luck with the run I hope they enjoy their new home, I'm sure they will.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

prayers certainly. that the reason will be found and treated and you will be ok

yes it was 96 here in Clayton Delaware. today. my husband has been out there and trying to get ready. we dont have electricity out there yet. do they have to have light in summer also. i know it only has to be a dim light. any suggestions on what to do for now.

They should be fine without a light now. If you want to check on them at night, bring a flashlight
