I just picked up three pheasants for dog training. I responded to an add on craigslist and didn't realize I was picking up live birds. So i now have 3 hens in my empty chicken run. the youngest is 8weeks and the oldest is 12 weeks. I already feed my chickens game bird rations as I like the higher protein. They all have peepers on. With only 3 of them can i safely remove the peepers without them pecking each other? Is it feasible to clip their wings and use them for training by laying down a sent trail and then putting them in a small cage at the end of the trail? Should I just process them and use the wings? I would like to get them a bit bigger before having to process if possible so i can save the meat. The gentleman showed me how to hold them correctly and how to "put them to sleep" I just hunt them I have never raised them before so any help is greatly appreciated.
