BTW Very glad you joined the BYC flock

I told my husband today that we have to make the coop big enough for 6 chickens. That way I can get 3 more in the spring and raise them from little bitty things. Hope they will be friendly and want to let me pet them. I tried and tried today to get my current girls to let me stroke them, but they wouldn't have it. They did want to stay close when I brought them crickets and worms though!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

You have come to the right place. This IS the place to be when you own poultry!

Make yourself at home here and we do welcome you to our flock!

I got a Barred Rock and 2 New Hampshire Reds. They came with a small tractor coop, but it has seen its better days. I am checking out everyone's coops to figure out what I would like to build. I like the idea of a tractor so I can move the coop around, but I also like coops that are probably to big to become tractors. Decisions are sometimes hard to make!

Might as well plan big as chicken math is deadly ...

So glad you joined us.

Keep talking to them, offer treats only out of your hand. They will learn to trust you and love you.
