I recently got a pair of fall(Late Sept) hatched ringneck phesants. I have no idea when they will start laying. What they need to nest etc. They are curently in a natural habitat pen with cedar trees, and man made boxes as well. Any info on how to encourage them to nest and when they might do that would be wonderful.
Thanks.

They have an evergreen tree (3 of them) nest boxes etc. can you tell me the best thing I can do for them to have a nesting area?

Sounds like you have a good set-up. They'll find the right spot themselves, just give them some privacy and you should be good to go!!

Thank you. I will certianly post when the first chicks are hatched.

Get a hay bale and open it up...fluff it in a pile....they can play in the hay.....go luck... you are ahead of me....wish I had a pair as well.
