So far so good. New chicks look happy and healthy. Picked them up at the post office about four hours ago. Chickens for Backyards pulled the order with an extra Americana.
Pics soon too come. ;)

2 golden comets ( Nugget and Comet), buff. Orpington (Abigail), welsummer (Cocoa), white Plymouth (Camilla), 3 Americaunas (Elsa, Anna, and Nixie)

Purchased most of my materials from 70% off rack in Home Depot and Homes for Humanity Discount store (great for hinges and panels).

I am so eggcited for you.

If you haven't already done so, check out the learning center articles on raising baby chicks.

Be sure to check daily or more for pasty butts. They occur more often than I had imagined and can pop up anytime during the first week.

Feel free to ask questions.

Would love to see the pics.

Hello, and welcome!

I'm glad you joined our community.

Congratulations on your new chicks! Glad to hear that they all arrived safely and healthily. It sounds like you have a nice variety. I've kept Americanas before, and have really enjoyed mine, because of their excellent temperaments and lovely green eggs.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. You have a nice mixed flock. Golden Comet is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, and they are egg laying machines. You should get loads of eggs from those two ladies. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thanks for the welcoming. While researching chicken coops, breeds, FAQ this website was my most visited and informative.

It is fun to see the personalities emerging, even as chicks so young.

Compared to you Master clockers I'm Not Worthy. :bow
