Just had my 1st guinea die and the story.

It is 10:00 PM and I am about to go to sleep. All of a sudden I hear a loud crash and guineas hecklin all over the place. I run outside and I saw a dark shade of something fly by. From my outside light I see a shadow of a big bird. I don't know what it was but after I change the light on my heat lamp so I could see what happened there was a dead 7 week old guinea laying on the bottom of the cage. It is a shock to see a guinea that you raise from hatching all the way to where you can start free ranging die in their safest place. Just thought I would let you all know what happened.

Sounds as if you were visited by a Great Horned Owl. They are persistent predators, and most likely it will be back. Fix your pens so that it can not get at your Guineas.
