Now, I figure the chickens have made me 75 cents, had 6 eggs and had to add a couple others. I had a couple a friends over and no one died, as of yet. It was yummy! Now they need to start laying, I am out of eggs. It was very exiciting to crack that first egg!

I know how you feel. I only have 2 out of 8 laying. (They are only 16 and 14 weeks old.)
I have to decide between zucchini bread or fried eggs, because I refuse to buy anymore from the store!!

Too bad you had to supplement with store bought eggs. But, your day is coming! Soon, you'll be wondering where to put all of those wonderful little gems!

Just wait till you try baking your first cake or banana bread with your own eggs. Especially if it's a yellow cake! You'll never see that kind of deep yellow from store bought eggs!!

Bon appetite!!

I know the feeling. We could hardly wait for our new girls to start laying. And now we are about to drown in eggs, 12- 13 per day plus 1 every other day from my OEGB. Last night I made omelets for dinner and the wife got to have the 4 eggs from the OEGB. She was so happy about that. Now I just need to get a few people to come buy some so we don't end up eating eggs for every meal or having them go to waste. I am also going to try freezing some. Have been told it works good. I am going to try it in ice cube trays and then vac seal them that way I can just take out as many as I need.
