I got him as a rescue due to his very bad feet. They had not been trimmed in over a year and he looked as if he had foundered at one time. I was working with a farrier and he was getting some what better and the farrier thought in time Dusty could recover. I had some people adopt him and they really loved him...... but his feet started to decline again. i had my vet go out and he thinks the bones had rotated and that he was in a lot of pain. He told me he would most likely never be sound and it would be a lot of time , money and pain for him to try and get him anywhere close to being sound.... if at all. So i had to let him go. It is such a shame that someone could do this to such a beautiful horse. He was a kind soul and loved attention and it breaks my heart........... RIP Dusty, i hope you can run like the wind where you are now......

You made his last days happy ones

Good for you. Sorry for your pain and loss.

I'm so sorry....but I'm happy that you were able to make the decision for him. It's hard to make that last decision, and kudos to you for recognizing it was his time.
