my showgirl hen went broody and I thought it would be cool to get some quail eggs for her to hatch out as an experiment. I didn't know if she would be successful and I've only used an incubator. She was successful and I have atleast 8 little bobwhites. My question is do I seperate them and put the quail in a brooder, or can I let them stay together? Can I feed the quail non medicated organic chick starter or do they have to be on a game bird food? Thanks in advance. Also as this is my first time with quail anything else you feel I need to know I would appreciate.

Ok thanks for the link. Yes it says game bird feed for the quail and you can feed it to your chicks too. Also marbles in the water is helpful. My question is should I remove them from the broody hen or will they be fine with her? I am removing the eggs that didn't hatch tommorrow. I'm wondering if she will keep sitting down to warm the quail after I remove the eggs. If there is anyone with experience on this please let me know.

If they did I'd still love to know the answer.

Between the possibility of them getting a disease that chickens carry called coryza and the size difference I wouldn't keep them together. Plus it usually doesn't go well because the quail are so small and the other birds in the flock (if there is any) usually kill them.
