Until you actually have silkies you just dont understand.. 6 months ago I would look at a silkie and say "Thats just ugly" and now that I have hatched a few and am now a silkie momma. Their the prettiest birds ever.

The "EVIL SILKIES" have me brainwashed!! LOL

All in personal preferences lol... Personally i think Silkies are ugly, and have had my Games called ugly. Plan to get Shamos, and some people consider them ugly.. Doesn't phase me though because i like em, and not everyone will.

I absolutely despise silkies but I have to say your bird is very pretty. Almost made me change my mind. I am a naked neck lover and I have to listen to people tell me all the time that they are hideous. I say it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. Each to their own. There is no such thing as an ugly chicken.
And I know exactly how you feel. My two favorite girls who I love more than anything, and who are the sweetest, smartest, cuddliest, most beautiful birds, are Cornish X, the ones everybody calls stupid/ugly/gross/lazy. To that I say

So, I told my family how I felt about everyone calling her ugly.... they all thought I was mentally retarded for venting about it on a chicken website. The fact that I'm on a chicken website totally freaked them out.

Not sure why. You guys are all so helpful and I have learned SO MUCH. I know more than DH about chickens now

But I made it clear that unless the name calling stops there will be no entering MY silky (who is also named silky) into the Festival this coming year. If you think I will let my Step Daughter make fun of my chicken with all her little friends around ......
