I was worried at first because they took longer to show signs of life than any other chicken eggs I've incubated. I can almost always see their heart beats on the 3rd day, occasionally the morning of the 4th. I didn't see anything in the SPW until the morning of the 5th day. Today is the end of day 6 and they really took off in the last 2 days. Developing beautifully!! I'm super excited about them. I hope they all make it!! I have 8 BLRW bantam chicks coming in 2 weeks so really looking forward to watching them all grow up together. I have 1 pair of splash silkies and then some younger partridge, gray and buff so looking forward to adding a few others to their mix also.

4-H chicken chain info is available for most Alabama counties now. They just posted DeKalb counties yesterday. DD wants to join this year, it will be our first time participating. Seems like a lot less chicks than I remember reading about in the past, and only take 3 to the fair instead of 5. USPS increase in live shipping rates probably had a part in the change?
ETA dont you just hate it when you think you are posting on one page and it is not the right one...this was meant for the Alabama state page, LOL, sorry yall. If interested in your states 4-H you can google or call your local county extension office.

Lol! It's a fruity scent. Mostly banana, with a hint of coconut and pineapple. I'm not a fan of coconut, but it's definitely more of an undertone and doesn't offend my coconut hating nose, lol. I made a Unicorn Poo soap yesterday. You KNOW you want your house to smell like monkey farts and unicorn poo!
