What will paper towels do ? I just put some down
You see that little one on the lower right...see how hims little legs are almost doing the splits because it's too slippery under those shavings...the bottom of that cage thing.
Paper towel will help prevent (slippery) leg issues.

i was about to clean the box out and put fresh shavings in like a lot more then seen ur comment to add paper towels so far so good

Personally, I would not put keets on shavings until they are at least 2 weeks old. They can and do eat the shavings. If they are not provided with the appropriate chick grit, they cannot digest the shavings and can become plugged up and die.
