Hi, I am a wannabe chicken raiser. I used to have chickens in the Lower 48 but haven't since I got back home to Alaska. I am concerned about building a chicken coop that will be warm enough in the winter (-25 degree weather) but low cost enough that I can get into it without spending a fortune. And of course, I don't want to lose chickens in winter either.

If anyone has suggestions or lives in Alaska I'd love to visit either on-line or in person if you live anywhere near the Valley.

Go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum to find and post on your state thread. I'm sure the posters can give you a lot of tips about having a weather proof coop
