Just joined; love talking Chicken!

Hello,

I've just joined BYC, however, I've been a silent "member" for some time now! Wonderful information, ideas, & pictures. Great forum... I have also made my first post in the "Emergency/Disease...." section. PLEASE READ and post your idea. I need help.

I have 14 regular sized hens, 3 bantam hens & 1 bantam rooster.... What a great site; glad to be here!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your hen, hope she recovers.

I am so sorry about your baby. Could be Mareks disease. Causes slow paralysis over time. Eventually they do die. There is no cure either. It is contagious, so just in case, keep this one away from the rest of the flock and wash your hands each time you handle her.

Do you have a vet you can take her too?

I am very sorry.

I hope she heals soon.

Thank you all for replying. Thanks for the get better wishes on my hen. We will try whatever we can to make her comfortable with hopes of her getting better. Wyandottes7 gave me some great posts/information to read

We have several breeds. Silver Duckwing pair, white Leghorn, black sex links, brown sex links, "brown black" hens (not sure of that name tho). We also have a pot bellied pig named Pork Chop......
