Hi Friends! My name is Martha. I have have read bits and pieces from Backyard Chickens for several years. I have had chickens off and on for about seven years. We currently watch over six hens…an Americana, Blue Egger, a Mystic Midnight Maran, Black Sex Link and two Buff Orpingtons.
I have been dealing with a bumble foot on my Americana and now she has a vent prolapse.

Welcome to BYC. Vent prolapse doesn't usually end well prepare yourself for constant daily work at trying to fix it or ending her suffering.

Hi Martha, welcome to BYC. Im sorry for your problems with your hen.
I have an easter egger who had bumble foot, and then a week or two later suffered a prolapse. That was a couple of years ago. She is doing ok now.
I have a two year old who had bumblefoot last year. I used the soak method on her. It took longer to heal, but it wasn't nearly as stressful for her or me.
