Introducing myself: My husband and I have a small farm in the mtns of north GA. We moved here 8 yrs ago and aren't new to chickens where we lived previously, but just got chickens since we've lived here. We started off with Rhode Island Reds but now have 19 barred rocks, ranging in age from 4 to 1, and 1 "accidental" gold wyandotte hen who hatched out from the rhode island reds my husband originally got from Tractor Supply. My favorite aspects of chickens are the eggs and the fact that they are amazing mousers. I have 17 pet Nigerian Dwarf goats, and I love to bake. My husband is a disabled Vietnam veteran and I'm semi-retired from the birth field. I still teach childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum classes but no longer attend births. My husband restores Griswold cast iron, grafts heirloom apple trees, and also restores antique industrial scissors. I look forward to being in this group!
