That is so cool! I have a mini one I bought, but really it was a holding room. I am building my first one too, but it is not near to being done. So far it has cost me about $300. Ouch!

I was wondering if there was a safe sealer too. I think I will just paint mine.

I got the plans from a guy who has his on the BYC site. He built his out of cedar, which I thought was bad for chickens.

Yea I looked at alot of plans and kinda made a mix of all of them. I would like a safe sealer rather then paint. I think it will lool good. Maybe Ill just seal the out side. thanks for all your comments. Maybe we have room for another hen now.

I can't help you with the stain choice, but your ark is going to be beautiful!

I had to comment on your thread title though. I do trail work as part of my job and for the initial construction we spend about 8 hours screwing panels together - wayyy too many "screwing" jokes take place during that time!!!

I'm glad someone else mentioned that! It's comforting to know that my warped sense of humor isn't alone in this universe.

I knew when we installed the double pane Pella windows in our coop that we completely jumped the shark...

What a kick-ass playset! What a far cry from the metal ones that we had when I was a kid. How we didn't get tetanus or lock-jaw from those rusty things I'll never know!
