Just lost a Kitten

I was out working on the chicken pen a little while ago. My 5 week old kittens follow me every where out there and the chickens don't even mind. A huge gust of wind blew over a board I had leaning against the pen and landed on one of the babies. Severe head trauma. Had to have her put down. It was so sad

that is sweet, but she has 5 sisters and a momma. She showed up at our church about 4 days prior to birth. We couldn't let her keep those kitten under the church, afraid they would turn up wild. I will have to find homes for them all. I already have 2 cats, 3 dogs, 2 fish tanks, a blue headed conure parrot, and my chickens. That is a light load compared to some of you though. What is a few more? Hahaha

So sorry for your loss. That happened to a golden laced polish I had once, but it was a peice of sheet metal, I was searching everywhere for him, and finally thought oh no I hope he isnt under there, and when I looked, there he was dead as a door nail (though Im not sure where that saying came from). I picked him up and put him on top of a stump, then I went in tears to get the shovel, and when I came back he was gone again!! I thought maybe a hawk or something got him that fast, but nope, he was just knocked out, I found him in the hen house eating. I then named him lucky.
