Just lost our baby goat...

We had a baby goat born three weeks ago with a cleft palate. She couldn't nurse so we bottle fed. She was absolutely precious and was fine last night, but woke up at 5 this morning, and was dead at 6. Not sure what happened, but we knew it was a short time deal with her. She added a lot of joy in her three weeks, and after the hurt goes away fun memories will still be there.

I am so sorry. It sounds like her time with you was wonderful. Maybe she had a genetic weakness beyond her cleft lip. I'm sure she didn't suffer.

I recently lost a newborn goat because mom started cleaning the wrong end, and my son was home with her, and didn't know what to do- we have since given him goat midwifery lessons! but I am very very sorry for the loss of your baby

I'm so sorry , I lost my precious blind baby to bloat, it happen so fast ,within 20 Min's she died in my arms at the doctors office.
