Hello: I moved my 7 chicks to a larger box because they were too cramped but now they are chasing each other and being aggressive. They were jumping on each other a little bit before but now they are actually running and chasing each other. They do this for a while then they all seem to calm down. I have 2 buffs, 1 golden wyndotte, 2 speckled Sussex and 2 easter eggers. It's not just one they all seem to be acting out with the exception of the buffs who are less crazy. I guess they are just figuring out the pecking order? Anything I can do to keep them calm? They are no longer under the light and the coop should be ready next week. Any suggestions? Do they need toys? They love to perch on edge of the box and I do hold them on my lap a lot, which they seem to really like. Is this chasing and jumping on each other normal behavior? Thanks for any advice.

It's normal behaviour hun. Have you tried putting them outside to play.? With like a cage/ fencing around them.?
Also try putting a large twig in the box for them to climb on x

Thanks for the quick response! I'm glad to hear that it's normal. I do have a pen to use outside so I will give that a try. When they get a bit older will this aggression calm down a bit? Or this behavior just comes and goes?

They will calm down once they have the SPACE/ freedom. There like humans tbh as a kid they are full of energy and are very playful. And when they get older they become more docile and layed back.
