So a month ago we had bought 3 baby chicks and about a week after one chick died, not sure of what. Then about 3 days ago another chicken died and now we only have one. Im not sure if its a rooster or a hen, but he/she has become very bonded with my dogs and I. I have 2 chihuahuas and I always take the chicken out and let it run around my house and even take it out on walks with my dogs. People think its hilarious seeing a baby chicken running along side of two chihuahuas. But anyways, my question is, does this hen/chicken really need another chicken for a companion? He/she seems extremely happy right now and gets played with every day for hours. I heard that if you try to add new chicks they may peck at eachother?

What a dilema? I have a lone chick, since the other died of heat stroke last week. It is really a lot of work. and more work and committment. and WOW unbelieveable amount of attention.

u should get a few more chicks. they r social animals and they need other chickens so that they can just b a chicken. it is good for their health as well. so u should get some more

If I add another baby chick with s/he wouldnt the older one pick on the little one? or are they still both so young it wouldnt matter..
