Just ordered hatching eggs

Okay, so I lost my pet mallards recently but am ready to start again. I ordered some mallard hatching eggs from Metzer Farms which is where I got our original mallard eggs. I will be building fort Knox to keep these babies safe once they move to the yard. I'm still sick about losing our mama and babies to awful predators.

My kids and I enjoyed the ducks so much that I am willing to start over. When we incubated these eggs the first time around I told them we would not be keeping the ducks but either setting them free when they were big enough or giving them to a friend who has ducks. I never would have dreamed how attached I would get to these little feathered babies! So shocked by how smart, affectionate, and lovable they are. So looking forward to a good hatch and some new babies to love on.

Congrats and good luck with incubation! Predators suck. We live in the middle of a fairly large forest, so there are many predators here too. If it weren't for them I would love to free range.

Thank you. The kids and I can't wait. The husband will find out soon.... Everything is hatching around us so it seemed like the right time to start over. I will be going all out to make sure our outdoor pen is safe for these guys when we get to that point.
