If they're pan fed & you happen to give them more than normal, they might go lay down; not sure. Here's one I built, patterned off of one I saw on BYC. They'll eat off & on all day, but never much at once; they know it's there whenever they want it.
If that were a totally true statement then why is it if I walk out of the house whether I have food or not we will come streaming across the yard like a flock of velociraptors and God help me if anything falls out of my hands.
