Hi! I'm new here as you may have guessed since I am sitting here typing in "New Member Introductions." We have a small hobby farm. We have Black Jersey Giants, Buff Orphingtons, Leghorns, and some rather strange combinations of that list. They have about 2 acres of free roam land. We originally had one Leghorn rooster that was complete horror to deal with, but now we have his three sons who don't take a second look at us. That pretty much it!

So glad you could join our community!! Jersey's and Buff Orps are great breeds to keep! Nothing wrong with Leghorns either. All Great layers!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry your Leghorn rooster was such a problem, but I'm glad his sons are fine. Leghorns are high strung and flighty, but Jersey Giants and Buff Orpingtons are both calm and gentle breeds, and any cross between them and your Leghorn would certainly be a calming influence in their offspring.
