just please give me any advice ... a few questions and will put up pic

so my two babies are now one week old and wow they have got big, their necks seem stetched, they try to fly out of the pen when i pick up the other baby turkey and they have new feathers coming through on their wings ... i will post pics in a few hours ... well my questions are
1. what will they look lik in say a few weeks time (roughly)
2. how will i know if they are boy / girl?
3. when will they be ready to eat ...

IF they are two boys or two girls!
4. any tips .. ?

I have two young turkeys, but I still can't answer your questions!
This is one at about a month old.

I have no idea if it's a boy or girl. It's a bronze, that's what the feed store guy said.

I read that they lay at around 6 months. If they're girls, that is!

Don't know if it's true.

I'm just hoping they get big enough to eat by the holidays...
They are as big as our chickens now, and they are about 2 and a half months old.

Although there may be suttle signs if you have a male or female as they grow up. Until there snood grows out it can be difficult to sex a turkey.

Generally Females have more blueish tint in there faces.
Male usually have more red.

Generally Females have more fine feather in the strip on there head the males.

Generally the Carnuckles are more pronouced on males and go further down the neck.

Generally Males will strut, but so can females. Male will hold the strut longer as they get older.

Generally a male will be larger then a female.

Notice there is a lot of generally and usually used, Because about the time when you get it all figured out along will come that One turkey who does not fit the rules.
