just put eggs inLockdown

ok, im new on here and ive read pages and pages of info but i thought i may aswell register and say hello, so hello eveybody,
im on my third hatch with a few different breeds in there 6 which are silkies, (i love silkies)
my last batch of silkies was very upsetting, i got a dozen eggs shipped to me but only 2 ended up growing bubbas in them,
and at lockdown my incubator didnt have enough humidity so they died.

.
but my first lot was a complete sucsess with 6 out of my 7 eggs hatching.
my incubater is a homemade 1 and seems to work ok. if this lot fails tho im off to fork out the dosh and buy 1.

Anyway as i said earlier i just put my eggs into lockdown and am eagerly waiting for the arrival of my wee gals.

I like the way you think positive about having wee gals.

I am sorry about your last hatch, I hope this one will be a complete success. My incubator is homemade as well, and I got 9 out of 10. I have read about dismal hatches from store bought incubators as well as homemade ones. I don't know that it matters how much you pay for it. If only it was that simple.

I just hatched some this past weekend, my first hatch ever.!!!!! 7 out of 16. I also have a homemade incubator. Worked well, but had humidity problems......ironing those out and setting more eggs this saturday

Couldn't get the humidity up during lockdown, which is what I think cause the others not to hatch. Also going to get another thermometer, so I have 2 of them and can compare temps/humidity.

I have my first silkies in the bator right now due 5/1 they look like they're doing well I hope they hatch out. Good luck on yours sounds like you learned how to get it done.

I'm on incubator watch I have 2 turkeys hatched and the other 2 turkey eggs are pipped and it looks like 2 coppers are pipped very exciting I just keep staring at the incubator
