ok so this may make me seem terrible but i’m hatching quails for the first time and then one popped last night and didn’t do anything then it was like wriggling trying to hatch and then i discovered the membrane had dried out so anyways i did researched and helped it hatch. it was successful but it is still attached to the egg at like its but. the vains and everything a still a little bit of blood. i’ve put it back in and left everything attached but have i killed it? it seems ok it’s chirping and movie but will it be ok?

Sounds a little premature to me, as well; probably needed another hour or more to absorb things before getting out on its own. I'd suggest leaving them alone longer in the future. Your first hatch can be nerve-wracking, but the chicks know what they're doing! (And if they can't do it, it's generally for a reason you don't want being passed down in your flock.)

That said, if it's not actively bleeding and absorbs things fine, it stands a good chance of being okay. Just leave them to do what they're doing! And if others hatch and start stepping on it, a towel to block the light should put the little peppers to sleep for awhile. I do that when they're too wet to come out but they're stampeding over the eggs trying to hatch. (Make sure not to cover the air vent.)
