Just put in a safety hole - am I doing this right? (duck egg)

I need reassurance that I’m doing this right..

This is my second time hatching duck eggs. Right now, I just have the one egg in lockdown, but I’ll have more eggs to put in lockdown in a week or two.
This egg started incubation on December 19th. I saw the egg had internally pipped yesterday morning (24 days along),
so I put it into lockdown a day early.

Now it’s the next day (25 days along). Candling through the incubator, I can see the baby is breathing, and I’ve heard it chirp a few times, but there’s still no external pip 22 hours later. Nervous, I put in a safety hole. I put it in now, because I’m not actually sure if it’s been 22 hours (it could be as late as 36 hours since internal pip), and also because this egg is a little on the smaller side.

So, am I doing this right? Should I have waited? I have a forced air incubator, my settings were 100°F (37.8°C), 50% RH before lockdown, and is now about 99°F (37.2°C), 70% RH for lockdown.

I’ve read a lot about assisted hatching, so if this baby doesn’t pip or attempt hatch by Sunday evening / Monday morning, I’m considering doing a full assist. Does this sound okay? Should I wait longer?

Also, I have another question, if anyone can answer it. The father of these eggs is crested. Do you know if a duckling having a crest could affect hatching??
Thanks so much for any help!!

Leave it alone.
Ducks take about 2 days to hatch.
There is no need to rush it.

Oh, I’m well aware. I had a duckling my first hatch take 55 hours 🫣

This egg still hasn’t made any progress..
It’s been at least 47 hours since internal pip, and there’s no external pip yet - everything I’ve read says it should take 24-36 hours after internal to external.
I‘ll continue to leave it alone for now, of course, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to do something later.

Sweet heart just hatched and is so tired now

It's so stressful! I am so happy for you both. My indian runner eggs are day 15. It's my second time incubating but it feels like my first. I just hope they make it. Your relief is palpable. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with your others.
This was back in January,
It was a very troubled hatch, and I had to assist quite a bit, but I’m happy to say 10 of 13 ducklings made it! All grew to be bright, healthy birdies :)

I wish you great luck with your Runners! This is the article I used to learn about assisted hatch. Most likely, you won’t need it, but I think it’s good to know just in case!

I put my remaining viable eggs in lockdown today...day 25. I noted that yours were chirping already. Should mine be?
