Just rescued some more Battery Hens *pics*

Awww Sweet Ruby. I'm sorry Jon. I admire you for all you did for her and I'm so glad she knew love and lived a beautiful life in her end. The picture of her in the pasture is my favorite with the rolling hills. To me that is what her heaven will look like. You can be proud you gave her a slice of chicken heaven here on earth.

Blessings...and thank you for saving those Battery Hens from their previous existence.

Thank you :)

This pic was on the day I buried Ruby. Her grave is next to Scramble, Edwina's and my 2 seven year old ex batts.

Hi Johnn! How are you doing these days? How is the flock? :)
Hey!,

I'm doing ok I guess. I'm ill at the minute (just a cold). Can you remember how I told you it was always one problem after the other with the hens? Well my cockerel attacked me the other day :(, so I feel quite uneasy now when I go up. I was bending down hand feeding the girls and he like ran and pecked one of the girls and I jamp thinking he was coming for me. It really is just my luck to be honest. His breed is "rarely aggressive". How are you and yours??

I am sick as well with the flu. So you and me both! Is that the rooster that is aggressive with the other hens? If so, you might want to rehome this boy. There are lots of threads here on BYC about how to train a rooster not to flog you. Let me see if I can find something here for you....

Check this thread out. There are lots of threads on this subject, but maybe this one will help. I am so sorry the rooster got you!!

My birds are doing great! Some of my chores are lagging behind since I started in with this flu this week, so I really need to drag myself outside and get some cleaning done.

Take good care of yourself and great to chat with you!
