Just saying hello

Hello have 2 chickens, 1 speckled called Violet and 1 Black Rock called Beatrix. Beatrix is very close to me and wants to be by my side all the time, we go and dig for worms in the garden together. Violet seems to be the under chicken, she also gets very broody nearly once a month.

Welcome to BYC. Get some fertile eggs next spring and let Beatrix raise a family. 2 is a bad number for a flock. If something happens you will have one lonely chicken. You could save some of the young pullets and increase your flock - chicken math at it's finest.

Beatrix is broody a lot I think, because she is trying to hatch out other chickens to talk too.

Maybe not but, she must be feeling outside, looking in.

It's Violet who is the under chicken. We have had a chat after reading comments and we are going to get another chicken, we don't need anymore than 3 as there is only 2 of us. But I feel that while Violet is in the sin bin at least Beatrix will not be lonely, as I do notice a change in her when violet is moody broody.
