I have a metal coop and a metal run attached, I have pulled the front door of the coop through the run (so it is always open)
Tonight I have seen two mice in my feeder
What should I do?
I would like a auto door into the coop so it’s shut at night but they are £££

also the other night the roof blew off the coop ( it’s happened one other time too whilst I’ve had it)

I've never seen a coop like that. You can use a snap trap in a coffee can so the chickens won't get caught, baited with peanut butter or dog food.
Do you have a product called Mouse X where you are? It's not a poison do you don't have to worry about accidentally killing something else but it's fairly effective.

We live in front of a field. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get rid of them. Would closing the front door at dusk help? Or do mice come out in the day?

Mice are more nocturnal but they do come out in the day. Unfortunately chickens are messy critters and the mice will find something to eat no matter what.

Yes a treadle feeder would be ideal as rats and mice cannot get into it, also you would be able to leave it outside your coop in the run as they are also weather proof. Chickens don't eat when they go to bed, so not needed in the coop. I have 3 for my girls in different locations to minimise any chance of bullying also got the automatic pop door, opens in the morning and shuts again at night, I have it set on the timer so because my coop is under a tree so it wouldn't work so well on the light setting, two of the best things I've ever bought for my girls and I couldn't do without them now.

We just unhook our hanging feeders and place them in a rubber made container at night. Simple and effective.
Yes but when I go to work at 5.45 in the morning I don't want to have to go get the chicken food out so they can feed while I'm at work nor do I want to have to traipse out to put the feed away, that is the purpose of treadle feeders.

That’s why I was speaking to the OP. Not sure why you thought I was addressing you...
