Just seen mice and it’s not nice!

We had rodent problems in our old coop. I once found a rat inside the hanging feeder that got in, gorged himself and got stuck inside from eating too much - so I raised the feeder up a few chain links so it was higher off the ground and that pretty much resolved them getting into it. I also found the simple design of the "magical mouse trap box" I found in a YouTube video and was getting them inside that. I even got to a point where I was closing the coop at night with a loaded pellet gun ready for the rats that would run out. Rodents promote rattlesnakes in my area and we've got kids running around - so new coop setup got hardware cloth everywhere and very small gaps to prevent rodent activity - I've seen zero evidence of rodents, yay!

I am seconding the cat idea, also most chickens will at least try to eat a mouse (effectively scaring them) so if you can live trap them and feed them to the birds then that is less feed.
