just sharing my duck stubbornness

here she is(Christina), every night the same discussion.... she doesn't want to get out!! even if is dark,
she just screams at me and try to swim away.... but there is no away, the pond is super small.

She is so pretty, okay don't wait till night fall, bring out the snacks getting close to dark and start getting her conditioned to coming for them close to where to put the up after a few days put it inside and let them go in. WaLa ducks inside and locked up tight. Nope she would make nice supper for some pred passing through.

i come back from work at 9... the place is kinda secure, but i still think she shouldn't be in the water after dark,
i worry she could get sick or something...... but is funny to find her there, in her super stubborn mode.

I wouldn't worry so much about her being in the water as to what could pull her out of the water and eat her, kinda secure gives me worry.

only cats can get in, is close with 3 walls and a fence .... my cats are afraid of them but i don't really know if there are feral cats around.

What about raccoons? even if you live in the city or suburbs they are everywhere. and they can climb. I'm not trying to scare you just think you need to rethink kinda secure.

i don't think there are raccoons in here... everybody have the hens with just fences..... but i have seen the threads about the raccoons attacks, i know they can be cleaver.....
I'll do some research to be sure.... i also have a mean dog, she won't let anything near... but I'm worry that once Henrietta finish growing up she could fly to the dog... i guess I'll have to clip
her wings. But i do understand what you are saying, i should be careful now rather than regretfully later. I'll do my best to check everything.

Today Christina woke me up, they sleep in their broader inside the house and i immediately knew she was "lose" in the house, i got out of the bed and found that she had jump the little wood fence and was encroaching Henrietta to do the same..... I was half sleep and really surprise, i just free Henrietta so she could join the other and they both stared walking toward the door,,,, I'm like OK OK i get it you guys wanna get out.... she looked so proud of herself, it was so funny.

They have us trained well. Last week my gander at 6:am was honking [well I wouldn't really call it honking] but he is loud, anyway he wouldn't stop so I stumble out of bed made it down stairs with out falling get the flash light open their door walk in and he is standing there looking at me like "What" I guess he wanted to see if I would actually come.
