I'm in the UK, but I signed & described how chicken keeping in towns & cities works here.

I even have a rooster & I live in the middle of town, as long as he doesn't disturb the neighbors between the hours of 11pm & 7AM & be reported for it (we bring him in at night) we are perfectly permitted to keep him.

Its all about consideration. I will admit we are a rarity, but I love my roo. Most people keep just hens & they are generally very quiet.
