Just starting out....Chicks or Juveniles?

Hi, I'm outside Reno and am just starting out with chickens. I'm undecided on whether to get a dozen various breeds of chicks or getting juveniles. I was leaning towards juvenile layers. Anyone have recommendations on this? Also, a reputable hatchery that sells juvenile layers? Thanks so much. I'm so excited to get started. I have my coop and runs and just waiting until the weather gets warmer to purchase the hens.
