Hello. We are new to raising chickens. We just bought 6 Golden Comets about 10 weeks ago. 2 Leghorns a week after that and 2 black ones (that now have brown in them) that we can't remember the breed of. Just finished the coop and run after many more dollars than expected. We have discovered that despite what we were told when we bought them, all are probably not hens. One of the comets is looking and sounding a lot like a rooster. At this time we are raising them for eggs only, none for meat. I look forward to posting my coop design and progression of the build and participating in discussions here. Thanks for a great site!
