Hey everybody! just wanted to introduce myself... I recently got into the chicken hobby via my girlfriend. She loves to show but wasn't ever able to have chickens after she graduated High School and moved from her parents. We just recently got a house together out in the country in Utah. now after I turned one of the already existing outbuilding into a chicken coop and added an outside 30'X50' chicken run we have started the incubating process in the basement of our home. Neither one of us have ever had any incubation experience so I read up on it and got acquainted with what I thought would be a good incubator for us to start out with. We started out with 4 silkie eggs, 7 black polish eggs, 4 blue polish eggs and 13 phoenix game crosses in our incubator, so 28 total. I wasn't sure how we were going to do being this is our first batch but, we are on our 8th day of incubation and after candle lighting the eggs on the 6th day we found that we have 23 good eggs and 5 unfertil eggs. 11 of the phoenix game crosses, 3 silkie, 4 blue polish and 5 black polish. I can't wait to see our results!! If anybody has experience in raising these little buggers please leave me some tips so that I may learn more!!
Good to a part of good chicken community!!

Hello and welcome! It's so much fun raising chickens! I wish I could incubate but I would do it everyday, 365 days a year. My husband might get a little upset if I did that and the neighbors too! Please post pictures when they hatch! We would live to see them!
