It was sold in a much bigger section when I purchased it as my run is 27'x 27'

I stumbled upon it after my CAT, just my cat...jump straight through the nylon netting and ripped a hole and ate my baby barred rock Midnight!

We've not had any issues what so ever from owls, hawks, vultures, (we even have seen two bald eagles really close )and the likes since I put this up...nor my cat!

Started the second roof this afternoon. Thankful its decently cool outside (78°), and breezy!!!


We decided for now we will cover the second roof with a tarp, as that's the cheapest option. Then we will shingle it, as that is cheaper then metal...

It's unfortunate and not that we are doing a second roof....
Like I said earlier...it has its positives...which I wouldn't have thought of if we didn't NEED to remedy a problem...

I let hubby take lead on this, as this is not something I dreamed up in my head lol... that was the awning... this double roof thing ...I am not sure abt...but hey..gonna go ahead and do it anyway lol

But things are also better when done right the first time soooo...

...RESEARCH is key! It's nice to have a vision but there are specific things that need done in order for it to be a reality!

Sigh, can yall tell I am having major regrets abt how we did the roof bahahahaha

To be honest we weren't going to, but at your suggestion we turned them..and do like it better this way...so I guess yes we will be

It's 8:46pm and we just finished! I have to be at work at 3am and he had to be there at 5am but I think we both just wanted to wrap it up!

I need to buy a bigger tarp...but all in all The Hen Hut is actually truly for really finished...

Thanks for the netting info. We bought some from Amazon that worked okay but boy was it difficult to put up! Of course, we tried it on a windy day and it kept getting hung up on itself on the sides of the run on the edge of the coop.

That nylon netting is so difficult all around!...and it ripped so easily...
This for sure has a very decent stretch, making it easy to work with. Didn't get tangled as we put it up, nor did it rip. Also when we take the braces down it doesn't lose its shape...they easily go right back into place as they were

It does now have like 1 or 2 tiny tiny holes...we put in it putting up the braces that hold the netting..but super easily fixed with a zip tie..

I have been so happy with it, especially after my experience with the typical nylon netting..(which was expensive!)

It also seems to keep the run slightly more cooler then outside of it...my husband even noticed!

..we did the exact same thing with our nylon netting...keep getting caught, hard to manage around things...heck, I tripped on it and broke a huge hole in it (top of net) before we even got it off the ground
