I bought this Golden last month and this is his first day out of quarantine. He is in a temp. pen until his permanent one can be finished.

I'm going to need to put a barrier between the two pens for now. My older rooster doesn't like the new guy. You can see him in the back giving him the "stink eye".

Thanks Donnadzitall. I would say that he is @1-1/2 to 2 yrs. You can't really see it in the 1st pic. but right above his tail he is getting the last of his adult feathers in. My older male (Cinn.) is slightly larger than this guy is but the ground in Cinns pen is higher than in the temp. pen (i'm constantly having to add more dirt around the edges because that's were they take their baths) and he is standing on his very tippy toes to make himself look bigger.

He really does not like the new guy.
Good luck to you with your birds.

Thanks everyone. I was suprised to be able to find another rooster around here that wasn't a mixed bird.
Ironimagery, they are Chinese golden pheasants. Most people call them Goldens. Here is a link that was given to me from Bsaffles when I asked a question in another post about my hens :

As to them being expensive, I bought my first roo as a snap decision because he was in bad shape and the guy was just trying to get rid of him. If I remember I got him for around $30. My new roo was also a snap decision but the guy I bought him from had quite a few extra roos that he was trying to get rid of. If he couldn't they were going to freezer camp and the skins sold. I picked him up for about $20. I wish that he had hens as well but he didn't.

Rob...I just bought my hen for my Red Golden on Craigslist...type in Pheasants and sometimes you get lucky. I was able to get my Lady Amherst hen too both of them for 15.00 each. But you need to know what to look for so you know whether you are getting pure breds or not. I call mine Firecracker and he is friendly...eats peanuts out of my hand and does a bird purr at me...pretty cool!
