First,

I am so happy for you, moving to the country. I checked out your website--Perhaps that rattler is endangered because they don't know how to hunt!

Really, there are plenty of mice, moles, voles, rabbits, etc. in any farmer's field.

You can tell that farmers have been saving to reuse stuff as a force of habit, when you come upon the feeders, etc. that you discovered in the outbuildings.

They are antiques from the 30's I believe. Found all dusty in the barn. Hadn't had chickens here in 15 years, but the old farmer kept everything... so it was a blessing for us.
