I found out today that the 3 chicks we have adopted are 3 different breeds. We have a little black australorp, a caramel stripey lohmon & a yellow light sussex. They are only 8-11days old, so unsure on gender yet, hopefully female. Which brings me to my question, i read that the lohmon is a gender specific bred chicken? So we should have one guaranteed hen...is that right?

By "gender specific" I'm assuming "sex-linked" which means that as chicks, the females will be one color and the roosters will be another color. It doesn't necessarily means you'll get a hen. (Did you get them from a tractor supply store? Hatchery? Friends?)

Kind of both. Friends from a hatchery. & yes, i read male & female are different colour...but im not sure if that is correct?

I guess i just wait & watch the signs. We are not aloud roosters so i will have to 'swap'any that are not hens.
