Yeah, they can see. They're just like English Sheep dogs, they can see thru the hair.

They can see, otherwise they'd be called 'blind silkies' or something...

My hatchery-quality Silkies can see just fine, their crests don't cover their eyes. They run around normally and are somewhat skittish.

I recently got some really nice show-quality Silkies and they give the appearance of extreme stupidity. They walk slowly, they bump into the feeder and waterer, they aren't afraid of me, they sort of tumble out of the pen when I open the door and they never learned how to use a nipple watering system. I think they're bumbling stems from their lack of eyesight from their very poofy crests.

I love them.

Mine never had too many problems with running into things...but they would miss food that you threw to them or if they found something they wanted to peck at they had trouble actually getting it.
