Juvenile Squirrel would not go away! Cute Pics!

Oh what a cutie! I'm thinking it might have fallen and got seperated from it's mom. Have you ever seen a mom run down and get a baby and run back up a tree? It's so cute- they wrap around her head! Hope the little guy is ok.

We had a similar situation here a couple of weeks ago. I saw the outside cat up in a tree trying to get something. I called her down and saw the squirrel on a branch. The cat sat at the bottom of the tree and started meowing, and the little squirrel started to come down toward her. I tried to catch the cat but she was running around the yard and successfully calling it down to the ground. I was chasing the cat and so was the baby. The cat got it but dropped it again. I caught the cat but the neighbor's dog barked and the baby ran through the fence to the dog. I won't say anymore about what happened next.

All I can think is the mother squirrel had been killed by either the cat or the neighborhood Cooper's hawk. This baby was desperate for the "attention?" of another animal.
