Hi I have 16 Khaki Campbell due to hatch on the 31st along with 14 chicken eggs( they were added 7 days after the ducks). I just checked on the bater and I saw a duck egg move in the turner. I candled and it looks like I have a few internal pips. Is it ok to pull the turner and go on lock down early?

My last ducks hatched on the 25th day.

I don't know anything about duck eggs...sorry! But good luck anyway!

I don't know for sure, but I'd think if you had internal pips you would need to lockdown for extra moisture and to stop turning... I think ducks take more humidity even than chicks if I remember correctly, so you definitely don't want them shrink wrapping the babies...

I'm not very experienced though, and certainly not with duck eggs. So you'll probably want to wait on a more qualified opinion...

Update

Saturday night one egg pipped one more yesterday and at least 6 more today. I've bumped my humidity up to 80%.

I'm a recovering "helper" my last couple hatched I couldn't just sit on my hands, I had to help. I'm sure if I would have been much more successful if was a little more patient. I have vowed not to open my bator until the hatch is complete.

Does it sometimes take several day from pip to zip?
