Kahtadin Sheep Thread!!!!!!

Anyone on here got Kahtadin sheep? I have 4 a ram and 3 ewes and I LOVE them!!

No Katahdins here, but we do have hair sheep - a flock of commercial Dorpcroix (Royal White) ewes.

I have never heard of that breed of hair sheep. I used to have Dorpers, I like that breed.

The Dorpcroix or Royal White is a mix of White Dorper and St. Croix. They are a relatively new breed and were developed in west Texas in the 90's. We like them a lot. The man who developed the breed trademarked the name though, so if it isn't registered with the Royal White Sheep Association it can't legally be called a Royal White and thus the "Dorpcroix".

I have Katahdin sheep! I am brand new to sheep, grew up with cattle. I have 5 ewes right now. Borrowing a ram from the breeder I got them from, to breed this fall. Loving it so far!!
