Hello,
I am a two year lurker and have dreamed of having my own chickens since childhood. I now have 3 Silkies, 2 Blue Andalusians and a dz Standard Cochin eggs on there way! When I commit, I really commit. I don't recall when or how I learned of BYC but I peruse it many times daily. I am excited by all the knowledge. I am a long time veterinary technician with exotics and avian education but not much experience with chickens. I am a newly wed and have a wonderful husband who is building us a coop mansion. He claims the chickens are mine and he could do without but he is the one buying worm treats and naming the first one!! We also have 2 dog-children and a loud-mouth, feather-plucking cockatoo. We live in a small rural town in Kansas where I was told chickens are not allowed....pashawwww.... I'm new here; they don't know me yet!
