After a brief history lesson I learned Kansas entered the Union 3 months
prior to the outbreak of civil war so technically Kansas folks would have
been considered Yankees.

Today it's considered a midwestern state right?

Tonight I made a point to strike up a conversation with the girls at the
hotel's front desk. They didn't have the mild southern accent I noticed in
my coworkers from Kansas and OK. It was hard having to talk to these
two sweet young ladies but it was worth it for research sake.

Another thing I noticed about the people at the casino tonight was how
friendly they were. We have two HUGE casinos in CT but the people,
even the ones who work there, are downright rude compared to the
folks in the twin Kansas Cities.

Yep. we're a friendly group out here in the Midwest!

There were many bloody battles between those who wanted Kansas to be a "northern" state and those who thought we should fight on the Confederate side. We were known as Bloody Kansas.

Well class is over and we just ate dinner at Longhorn. The 22oz steak
was pretty good.

Tommorrow we fly home, first to Baltimore and then on to Hartford.

KC, actually Overland Park, was pretty cool, a little generic, but cool
none the less. It would have been nice to actually see a prairie but next
time I'm gonna take a few vacation days and explore.

They said the next round of this training was in October. Woo Hooo!!!
