Drumstick Diva, the hatching is going well! We have 9 chicks that successfully hatched from our last batch and 12 more incubating that will hatch when we get back from spring break. We have one little chick that is crippled - it's like he has clubbed feet. Other than that, it's gone pretty well. I'm not exactly sure on the breeds, I got the eggs from a person near me that posted it on Craig's List
I love using the chicks to teach my high schooler's science. I have some male students that act pretty tough but then fall in love with the chickens. Each student that interacts with the chicks gains a better appreciation for the sanctity of life and thinks about where they buy their meat from.
