Me too. My Ameraucanas were also sold as Araucanas, but hey, I knew they were Ameraucanas. Clearly.

Anything with a beard, they sold as an Araucana.

It has been confirmed- I’m going to the Auction again on Friday. I’m just going with my uncle, so unless I see ducks or silkie hens, I shouldn’t be coming home with anything.

You should band them now with a single color band to designate them as breeders.
All chicks hatched that you keep to adulthood should be banded with a different color band.

But they’re in a separate coop from all my other breeds. I guess what I’m saying is I don’t like banding Unless I have to, I worry about it being too tight or causing problems. I guess you’re right, and I’ll eventually band them all.

If you’re worried about using zip ties then wing band them maybe.
I always make sure the zip tie is loose enough to rotate around the leg.

I like the idea of zip ties, I might band them this weekend. I can always remove them, I suppose
